NORTH East Worcestershire Ravens produced their best display of the season in the Midlands Premier as they went down 52-14 at Telford Raiders.

The new young athletic squad were looking forward to the game after last week's fixture against Boston Buccaneers was cancelled.

The away side started well and made a host of forays in the Telford half with four try scoring opportunities held above the line.

Telford though scored two tries but were never allowed to settle by Ravens and saw a player sin-binned.

Ravens took full advantage with a try from centre Chris Cooke and the hosts responded with two more touch downs.

Worcestershire saw key man Jonnie Mills stretchered off after a clash of heads and Telford bagged another score.

The hosts increased their lead with a brace of touch downs but Ravens were not going to take it lying down with Rob White scoring and David Wimbury adding the extras.

The tries kept coming with Telford scoring and Brad Sinclair notching up scores.

But the hosts finished strongly with two late efforts.

Director of rugby Jason Spafford said: “This game has been the best performance of the season for Ravens with a massive development in the skills of all the players with a brilliant positive attitude."

Ravens are away again this weekend at table-topping Coventry Dragons.
