DROITWICH Dolphins continued their winning ways this weekend at the Gloucester swimming club Open Meet.

Twenty-two swimmers competed in 93 races, while the team managed to win 30 medals and managed to beat their entry times on 56 occasions.

Medal winners included Morgan King, who bagged five golds, two silvers and a bronze medal.

There was also success for Chris Jenkinson (one gold, one silver) and Tom Dean (one gold, one bronze), while Tim Haggitt and Alex Munro both won a gold medal.

There were four silvers for Tim Quiney, while Ruth Hadley (four silvers), George Grech (one silver) and Joshua Royle (one bronze) also did well.

King was also runner-up in the 12yr age group top girl award.

Well done to all the other team members, Georgia Appleton, Max and William Armstrong, Matthew Daniels, Rowen Dennett, Harry Grech, Rebecca Hadley, Dan Kay, Megan Oswell, Felicity Quiney, Ashleigh Turner and Lilia Young.

Coach Chris Hadley said: β€œIt is great to see all the hard work being produced in training is reaping its rewards in competition, along with the fantastic team spirit shown by all swimmers. It was a pleasure to coach the team over the two days.”

The club are hoping the success will continue for two Dolphins swimmers, as King competes in the Welsh Nationals in Swansea later in July and Hadley will swim in the English Summer Nationals in Sheffield this August.
