BROMSGROVE CC will be hosting games from the fifth International Police Cricket Carnival in August.

Officers from around the world will be in Worcestershire for the tournament, which is run by Worcester City Police Cricket Club.

The players will make up six teams who will be playing each other in T20 cricket games at grounds across the county between Monday, August 10 and Friday, August 14.

The grand final will be played at Ombersley on Friday, 14 August (2pm start), with free admission to any of the games.

Carnival Secretary Kevin Powell said: “This is the fifth time we have hosted an international carnival, officers attend in their own time and get to meet colleagues from around the world they would never normally meet.

“We look forward to hosting another successful event, using local clubs to allow officers from around the world to meet up and play cricket.

“We would like to thank Bromsgrove Cricket Club for hosting us on the Monday, allowing our colleagues to play on some of the best grounds in the area.”

All six teams will be in action at Bromsgrove’s St Godwalds home on Monday, August 14, with chairman Nick Husbands, who is a Detective Sargeant based in Redditch, in action.
