MICHAEL Hegarty scored four goals as Bromsgrove United got the better of GLA 4-0 to progress in the Evesham Hospital Cup.

VBG Fairfield ran out 7-0 victors at Pinvin United, with a hat-trick for Richard Bishop and braces for Shaun May and Dan Wilkes, with one of May’s goals a brilliant-25 yarder.

Ellis Blakemore was also unlucky not to get on the scoresheet as his mazy run beat several players before his shot smacked back off the post.

Not such good news for Stoke Sporting FC, with both sides going out of the their respective competitions.

The firsts lost 4-1 at The Bear, while the reserves went down 7-3 to New Inn.

In the Bromsgrove and District LeaguePremier Division, Lickey End Social played host to Thomas Brothers, a game which switched venue at the 11th hour and Brothers took full advantage to stretch their lead at the top of the table to six points after a 6-0 win.

Richard Tyler was the goal-scoring hero for the victors, netting four, with ex-Churchill striker Ross Kendall getting one.

Rubery Athletic’s season continues to get better and they travelled to The Grove who were looking to bounce back from last week’s drubbing.

It was still a defeat for The Grove but only by a 3-1 scoreline with Andy Court nabbing yet another hat-trick. Rubery also had three first half goals disallowed.

There was a tight game at WCT Youth Raiders with the home side getting the better of Belbroughton Athletic by a 5-4 scoreline in a nine-goal thriller.
