HOCKEY: Droitwich Ladies firsts were too strong for Worcester’s fourths in the County League Division One as they recorded a 10-1 win.

Spa bagged five goals in each half, with Caroline Siddle hitting four.

There were also braces for Sue Williams, Lucy Hine and Louise Warrilow.

The seconds went goal crazy as they saw off Worcester fifths 11-0.

Gabriella Prendiville opened the scoring after three minutes, and Anna Weston doubled the lead before Rachel Cooper added a third.

Cooper added a fourth, before Jenny Gage scored.

Weston scored five more goals to make it six for the day and Pat Hine was also on target.

Simon Baines (2), Alexei Payne and Craig Timmins scored for the Men’s first team as they were edged out 5-4 by Newtown in the West Midlands Division One.

The seconds went down 3-1 to Kings Heath Pickwick in a keenly fought contest.

A mistake in the defence led to Pickwick’s first goal but Spa levelled when Shaun Laight applied the finishing touch after good work by Mitch Oakes.

In the second half, Kings Heath added two further goals.

The Badgers lost 4-0 to Worcester Pippens.
