IT WAS a busy weekend for Barnt Green Tennis Club last weekend with the Mixed A, Men’s C and Ladies' B teams all in action and experiencing differing degrees of success.
First up were the the Mixed A team, who managed to see off Droitwich A 3-1 in Division One.
James Hodges and Rachel Scott teamed up to win one and lose one, while Jane Hampson was her usual solid self alongside James Flynn, who got his one good match for the year out of the way early to win both rubbers.
The Men’s C team played well and dug in to emerge with a winning draw against Bromsgrove F in the depths of Division 11.
Dave Taylor and Will Scarle teamed up well to win both rubbers, but Alex Warren and David Llewelyn lost their two matches however they won enough games to ensure that Barnt Green took the spoils overall.
Elsewhere, the newly-formed Ladies' B team moved clear at the top of Division 11 thanks to a comfortable 3-1 victory over Far Forest.
Linda Garvin and Chris Miles won both in straight sets, while Sarah Morgan and Debbie Warren won their first match and were a set up in the second when Morgan was forced to retire injured.
The club are always on the lookout for new members and anyone interested can visit www.barntgreensportsclub.co.uk/ for more information.
