UNDER-STRENGTH Fairfield Villa’s habit of conceding late goals hit them again when they were edged out 1-0 by Earlswood in Midlands Division Two.

A 90th-minute strike by Joe Casley allowed the bottom side to bag a rare win.

It wasn’t the first time that Villa had let in goals near the death after dropping points in recent weeks against Feckenham and Paget Rangers.

Joint-manager Paul Oakes said: “It was frustration because there was very little in the game.

“We were missing a lot of players because of work or injury and at the moment we are putting teams out but often the lads have not really played together.

“It’s just one of those seasons where, for lots of reasons, we’ve had no continuity of team selection.”

Villa will be hoping that a host of players will be available for their next clash, which is at Paget Rangers on Saturday, April 23.

Pete Jenvey, Lewis Cosgrove, Ollie Booth and several others are expected to be back.
