DROITWICH Under-11s clinched P late final success at Luctonians’ festival on Sunday.

Spa were selected in a pool where only the toughest teams were going to make it through and facing two local rivals in Stourbridge and Bromsgrove.

Droitwich, against one of two Luctonians teams, won the game one try to nil.

They went onto beat Bromyard, draw with Bromsgrove and lost in the last minute to a resurgent Stourbridge.

Those results qualified them for the Plate competition and they faced another home side.

After some inventive play from Ben Phillips, who linked well with backs outside him, and strong running from Max Yorke Brookes and Tate Horner, Droitwich won three tries to two.

They faced Bromsgrove in the final and won by six touchdowns to nil.

Droitwich attend the Bees festival next Sunday and hope to keep this form going to the end of the season.

The under-14s came from behind and scored a last-minute try to win the North Midlands RFU Trophy against a determined and well organised Whitchurch.
