BROMSGROVE Tennis Club’s men’s B team made it two out of two in local derby matches as they beat David Lloyd Bromsgrove B 4-2 in Division Three, the same margin as the D team won by last week.

Matt Smith with Jeth Tomlinson won both their rubbers to set up the win as the pairings of Stratford with Jones and Rutter with Boardman won one each.

Not such good news for a depleted C team as they went down by the same score to David Lloyd Dudley A in Division Five.

With Hands and McGregor stepping up a team, it was a tough match. Casey with Wright and Niedzwiedz with Roland each won a rubber to put some points on the table for Bromsgrove.

The newly-formed men’s F team took their first victory in their second match in Division Nine.

Juniors Jim Round and Stuart Shannon won both rubbers playing at first pair. Mark Wilson with Charlie Tait picked up the other win for Bromsgrove to secure the bonus points.

The mixed D team stormed to a 4-0 win over Bewdley D on Saturday. Lorraine Russel with Chris Hands and Paul Douglas with Sue Forrest were in dominant form to secure maximum points in Division Five.

Finally, the ladies' D had a great 4-2 win over local rivals Droitwich D in Division Seven.

Ros Cooke with Lesley Hodgson were triumphant in both of their contests and Jane Corbett with Carol Cornellisen and Sarah Davies with Catherine Maund both earned hard-fought victories to consolidate their place at the top of the table.
