BARNT Green Under-15s have battled through the Worcestershire and Midlands rounds to make the national finals.

The club’s young guns will be in action at Rugby next Monday to take on three other regional winners.

Green started with success in the county cup, coming through four tough games to make the Midland rounds.

In the semi-finals, they took on 2014 under-13s champions Old Northamptonians and won with a disciplined display.

Jacques Banton hit 53 runs as Green made 136 and then restricted their opponents to 87-9, with four wickets for Sam Johnstone.

In the final, Barnt Green hit 161 off 20 overs, with runs for Peter Hawk (39) and Banton (53).

Hayden Froggatt took two wickets in the first over as Cambridge were dismissed for 53 runs.

Jake Johnson was also impressive with figures of 4-7.
