BROMSGROVE pupil Siena Horton has been selected to represent Great Britain in the under-16 Alpine Ski Team at the Children's International Races in the Czech Republic.

The year 10 pupil will compete in both Giant Slalom and Slalom races on January 27-28, 2017.

The GB team for this race will consist of three under-16 girls, three under-16 boys, two under-14 girls and two under-14 boys.

Horton is only in her first year of representing the under-16s and will still be 14 years old when she races.

It is the third time she has represented Great Britain, since she made her debut for the British Team last season in the under-14 squad in January 2016 and raced in Andorra where she medalled in the Giant Slalom and got a further three top 10 finishes. She also competed in the world's prestigious Topolino race in Folgaria, Italy in March 2016.

Based in Leogang, Austria, Horton trains throughout the season with Ambition Racing and spent six weeks this summer training in New Zealand with them.

She has also secured sponsorship by Atomic UK for the start of this season.
