BROMSGROVE Sporting will attempt to put on their Sunday best this weekend when they entertain Lichfield City in the FA Vase, writes Nick Pullen

Club officials are keeping their fingers crossed for a bumper crowd at the Victoria Ground and Sporting boss Paul Smith insisted: "The game has got the whole town buzzing and we're really looking to put on a show for the spectators.

"It's one of those games were the crowd can really play a big part and get behind the players.

"We had another tremendous crowd last Saturday against Atherstone Town, around 530.

"I thought Atherstone were the best side we've played this season.

"People told me we were poor in the first half when we trailed 2-1 at the break, but I think that was taking something away from Atherstone.

"The crowd were screaming their displeasure at us by half time. But in the second half you could sense they were trying to suck the ball into the net.

"I didn't think we'd played that badly for the first 45 minutes, but I did give the players a right royal rollicking at half time when the teapot went out the window. That was because I didn't think we'd played with enough desire and determination which I've come to expect from my players.

"In the second half, you wouldn't have thought it was the same side! The reaction was first rate and if we'd started the game as we did in the second half, it would have been a different story rather than a 2-2 draw."

Smith has boosted his firepower by bringing in striker Tom Craine from Knowle The striker who originates from the Isle of Wight has scored 44 goals in 40 games for Knowle.

Smith said: "I was looking to freshen up the attack, especially as Chris Conway is soon to star a 12 match ban which he has picked up while playing Sunday football.

"We played Knowle in the Smedley Crook Cup last week and Tom featured for them as a lone striker but he still caused our back four all sorts of problems. His record with Knowle shows that he knows where the back of the net is!

Both Keenan Meaker-Richards and Jake Willcox will back available to face Lichfield and Smith accepts he has some tough decisions to make with his selection.
