BROMSGROVE remain rooted to the bottom of National League 3 South West after finishing on the wrong end of a high scoring 55-29 result at Bournemouth.

All the damage was done early in the game as Bournemouth soon built a big lead but credit to Bromsgrove , who refused to buckle and battled their way back to win a four try bonus point.

Bromsgrove head coach Dan Protherough said: "Bournemouth came flying out of the blocks, hit us hard early on and we didn't deal with it very well.

"They produced some of the best rugby we've faced this season and I'm surprised they've only won six out of their 11 games, but then that only goes to show how tough this division is.

"We fought back really well in the second half, although the game had gone from us by then."

Bromsgrove tries came from fly half Will Harris, scrum half Adam Whiteman, No.8 Tom Wilson and winger Charles Balfour.

Jon Critchlow converted three of the four tries and also kicked a penalty.

Bromsgrove host Bracknell at Finstall Park this Saturday in match Protherough believes his side can win.

He claimed: "We've got three games left going into Christmas and they are three games I've targeted as wins.

"All it needs is a couple of wins to get us right back in the pack and that's what we'll be looking achieve ahead of Christmas.

"We've played all the top four sides and taken bonus points from those games. In fact nobody in this division have won more bonus points than us."
