BROMSGROVE School can lay claim to having the best netball team in Worcestershire after being crowned county champions.

The Bromsgrove girls beat as string of impressive rivals including Malvern College, Kings Worcester, RGS Worcester, Hanley Castle and Malvern St James to clinch the title.

As a result of their triumph, the team of captain Chelsey Small, Ayana Clarke, Imogen Faulconbridge, Jessica Fullard, Elyssa Jones, Ellie Bennett, Holly Bolger, Ella Gardner, Lauren Neilson-Watts, Rhea Lester-James and Alex Scott will now go onto represent Worcestershire in the West Midlands Finals which take place in January.

Several Bromsgrove School players have also been selected to represent new national netball franchise side Wasps.

Lauren Brown has been chosen for Wasps Under-21 side while Kitty Luscombe, Ella Gardner and Katie Morrice will compete for the Under-17's.

Wasps are a brand new Superleague team who will play their home matches at Coventry's Ricoh Arena.

They play under the same banner as Aviva Premiership rugby side Wasps who are based in Coventry.

All the Bromsgrove School players have been chosen to play for the junior sections of Wasps with a view to advancing into the Superleague side.
