OLLIE Booth doesn't find the net very often for Fairfield Villa these days.

In four years with Villa, Booth has only ever scored once.

But last Saturday's contest at Solihull based Smithswood Firs turned into a collector's item as Booth bagged a brace of goals to help Villa secure a 4-2 win.

The result maintains Villa's third place in Midland League Division Two with six games remaining.

Villa spokesman Paul Oakes said: "We were just quite grateful to get the result as we were missing eight regulars through a variety of reasons."

Two early goals from top marksman Connor Collins soon put Villa in command, his second, struck from 35 yards out, was a contender for goal of the season.

Smithswood pulled a goal back before Booth made it 3-1 , but a second goal from the Firs on the stroke of half time put the issue back in the balance.

But goal machine Booth put paid to any recovery by heading home from a corner to seal the result.

Villa have a local derby on their hands this Saturday when they entertain Feckenham.
