DROITWICH mixed C team secured a 4-0 success at Ombersley B to move up to second in Herefordshire and Worcestershire Summer Tennis League Division Five East.
Chris Passey and Heather Fellows won 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 and 6-3, 6-1 while Sue Webber and David Lamb triumphed 6-0, 6-3 and 6-1, 7-5.
The B team lost 4-0 at home to Worcester C in Division Two with defeats for Caroline Brookes and Ben Steel 6-3, 6-0 and 6-0, 4-6, 6-3 and Linda Price and John Moran 6-3, 6-3 and 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
The fifth-placed women's C team had a losing home draw with Wall Heath B in Division Six East.
Christina Sellers and Diane Owen won 6-3, 7-5 and lost 6-4, 6-4.
Aileen Baker and Marilyn Sherring fell 7-5, 7-5 but bounced back 6-1, 3-6, 7-6.
Elizabeth Fielden and Ishbel Crossley won 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 and lost 6-4, 6-4.
The men’s F team remain in a Division Nine East relegation battle following their 5-1 home loss to Bromsgrove G.
Captain Steve Whittaker and Mark Alexander won 7-6, 6-0 and lost 5-7, 6-2, 6-0.
Paul Webber and Kevin Pollard fell 6-3, 7-5 and 6-3, 6-1 while Jon Ball and Jack Roberts went down 6-2, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-3.
The men’s B team's hopes of promotion in Division Four East took a blow as they lost 4-2 to table-topping Stourbridge D.
There were wins for Bob Smith and Kevin Hodges 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 and Joe Maidment and Ian Bowman 6-2, 6-2 but they also lost 6-4, 6-2 and 6-4, 6-0 respectively.
Moran and Nick King were beaten 6-7, 6-4, 7-6 and 6-1, 6-2.
The C team lost 5-1 at Hallow A in the same division as Neil Bates and Steel won 6-3, 6-4.
But they also fell 6-1, 6-3 while David Lamb and Peter Fawcus went down 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 and 6-0, 6-2 and Carlos Segura and Mark Pearsall fell 7-6, 6-3 and 6-2, 6-1.
Droitwich under eights beat Worcester 15-1 in their Mixed Division Two fixture.
They moved to second in the table with wins for Barney Danks, Oliver Stevens, Finnley Pritchard and Harry Smart.
The girls' under 14s lost 3-0 at home to Stourport in Division Two despite the efforts of Megan Ross and Imogen Alldritt.
