DROITWICH Spa marked their final match at King George’s Playing Fields for the foreseeable future with a 3-1 pre-season friendly victory over FC Stratford.

Spa, who will be ground-sharing with Stourport Swifts while improvements are made to their home ground, controlled the first half-hour and should have been out of sight.

Macauley Finch and James Lemon in particular caused problems for the defence and the duo got themselves on the scoresheet.

Finch found himself through one-on-one with the visiting keeper and slotted home to give the hosts the lead.

Lemon then danced around three defenders and the keeper before rolling the ball into an empty net.

But Stratford battled back and were the better side for the final quarter of the first period and the first 20 minutes of the second half.

Spa made several changes at the break and Stratford grabbed a goal back.

Keeper Matt Oliver had to make a couple of decent saves to keep Droitwich ahead.

But as the game went on Spa took control once again and Lemon got his second to seal the win.
