ATHLETE Joanne Frost had the golden touch in Europe with a long jump victory to remember.
Bromsgrove's Frost, who competes for Bromsgrove and Redditch Athletics Club, was took gold at the 20th European Masters Athletics Championships in Aarhus, Denmark.
Moer than 44 countries competed at the championships and Frost secured her win with a season-best jump of 5.61m, Christina Paganelli from Italy was second with 5.33m while Holland's Wendy Visser was third with 5.20m.
Frost's gold was her second medal of the competition, she had already collected a bronze in the 100m women's 35-40 age group with a time of 12.74 seconds.
She said: "I was pleased with the bronze in the end as I picked up a slight injury three weeks before and wasn't even sure if I would be able to run so to come out and get a medal was a surprise. The time was disappointing, however the medal made up for that."
Frost is taking some time off before starting winter training and preparing for the European Indoors in Madrid in March where she aims to regain her European titles in the 60m and long jump.
Hre next major competition will then be the World Masters Championship in Malaga in September 2018 where she will compete in new age group of W40-45.
