BROMSGROVE'S second string have gone second in Birmingham League First 2 following an emphatic nine wicket win over Berkswell.

Accurate bowling by Ben Johnson with three for 47, Mikey Wyers two for 15 and Mark Meacham two for 23 helped restrict Berkswell to 135 for eight off 45 overs.

Bromsgrove's reply was interrupted through rain leaving them a target of 121 to reach off 38 overs.

They duly obligued, cruising to a winning 121 for one in the 24th over, with opening bats George Cracknell on 43 and Matthew Russell 58 sharing a stand of 88 for the first wicket.
