BROMSGROVE racer Jake Clark was in top ten form for his debut on the Grand Prix track at Silverstone.

Clark was back on his standard Honda NSF250R Moto3 for round 9 of the Hel Performance Motostar British championship.

After wet practice sessions, conditions improved for qualifying and two race events on the 3.7 mile circuit.

After a starting position of twelfth for the first race Clark battled up to as high as eighth before dropping to tenth for the finish of eight-lap race one.

He also finished tenth in the ten-lap second race after avoiding a crash and holding off Shane Faber on the line.

Jake Clark said: β€œIt was amazing to be back at Silverstone and this time to ride the GP circuit. It is so big and flat compared to Cadwell Park where we raced last time. Free practice was a bit tricky though.

"This was my first time in the rain on this bike and it took time to trust the bike. In race one I was really buzzing. I was riding in the group of riders I want to be up with.

"In race two I was battling with a couple of guys when they crashed. They went over the grass and came back on to the track so I had to slow right down.

"I really enjoyed the circuit and the racing and really got my lap time down.”
