FRUSTRATING Fairfield Villa threw away their chance of victory when they allowed rivals Bloxwich Town to snatch a last gasp equaliser which resulted with their Midland League Division Two contest finishing in a 3-3 draw.
Villa spokesman Paul Oakes explained: "It was really disappointing. We were awarded an injury time free kick in Bloxwich's half, but we messed it up, gave the ball away and Bloxwich went straight back upfield to equalise.
"It was definitely a case of two points dropped rather than a point gained.
"We were guilty of creating a catalogue of missed chances. We hit the post and then their goalkeeper dropped the ball at Ellis Blakemore's feet after being caught in two minds and we still didn't convert."
The lead continually changed hands with Connor Collins cracking home twice for Villa while Danny 'DJ' Pitt provided the other.
But Connor Collins was also guilty of missing a penalty to let Bloxwich off the hook.
Villa will be put to the test this Saturday when they host high flying NKF Burbage from Leicestershire
