DROITWICH ladies' A team lost 3-1 at David Lloyd Bromsgrove A in Herefordshire and Worcestershire Winter Tennis League Division Two.
Lisa Pettener-Jones and Marelize Yorke won 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 but the former player picked up an injury during the second match as Bromsgrove levelled the scores.
Penny Maidment and Caroline Brookes fell 0-6, 6-3, 6-3 and 6-0, 7-5.
The fifth-placed E team were involved in a tight match at home to Belbroughton in Division Nine East.
Caroline Hawley and Julia Rollit won 6-1, 6-7, 7-6 and 6-2, 6-2.
But Megan Ross and Hazel Briggs lost both matches in straight sets as Belbroughton claimed the winning draw.
The second-placed men's C team lost for the first time this winter 3-1 to Bewdley D in Division Six East.
Kevin Hodges and Bob Smith won 6-3, 7-5 and went down 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 while Bruce Turner and Ben Steel lost 6-3, 6-2 and 7-6, 6-4.
The mixed E team, who are third in Division Seven East, were also beaten with David Lloyd Worcester B edging a close encounter.
Phillip Shaw and Anne Everard won 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 but then lost 4-6, 6-2, 7-6.
Mark Venables and Julie Rhodes triumphed 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 and fell 7-5, 3-6, 7-6.
With the scores level on matches and sets won, the result came down to games with Worcester taking the verdict 64-61.
