BROMSGROVE are preparing for their Midlands One West crunch clash at promotion rivals Dudley Kingswinford this Saturday.

Boars head coach Dan Protherough believes his players will have to play to their full potential to come out on top when second host third at Heathbrook.

He said: "It is the pick of the league games this weekend and is a game we're looking forward to.

"We just managed to squeak over the line when we met at our place earlier in the season so it is going to be tough.

"I believe that we can get the win if we play to our potential. We'll have to make sure we have the right attitude and concentration.

"We will be working on a few little technical issues that we want to improve and that should help us as well.

"It's an important game because they are slightly ahead of us after playing a game more before Christmas. It would be a massive win and would make it even tighter at the top again."

Bromsgrove go into the game on the back of a confidence-boosting derby success against Camp Hill last Saturday.

Protherough's men won 47-17 despite losing Antonio Andreas to a red card early in the second half.

"I was pleased with the performance because it almost felt like we were starting the season again after the Christmas break," said Protherough "There were a lot of good things to take from the game and a lot of positives for us moving forwards.

"It was a blow to lose Antonio Andreas. There was a big melee and I think he just tried to drag a player out of it but the ref thought he'd used his knee. The other players coped well though and were able to cover.

"Overall, we played some nice, positive rugby, which was important after our sluggish spell at the end of the year.

"We wanted to get back up and running in the right manner and we did that, so I'm very happy."

The Boars have no major injury doubts ahead of the DK clash and Tom Hardwick, who has been out for around 10 weeks with a shoulder injury, is nearing full fitness and could feature.

Andreas will be the only absentee due to his suspension.
