OLYMPIC UPDATE: GB stunned by devastating Dutch

BRITAIN'S men's hockey team will have to pick themselves up to contest the bronze medal match after suffering a devastating 9-2 loss to the Netherlands in tonight's semi-final.

Team GB will meet Australia in the play-off for third place on Saturday (3.30pm) after being stunned by the dominant Dutch.

The squad, which features Bromsgrove's Dan Fox, fell 2-0 down early thanks to Roderick Weusthof's brace but Ashley Jackson pulled one back.

But the Netherlands powered into a 4-1 lead by the break. GB pushed for goals after the break but they were picked off by their opponents.

Robert Moore pulled a consolation effort back but it was too little too late.

They now face the Aussies, who lost to Germany 4-2.

GB have already met the Antipodeans, drawing 3-3 in a pool group game.
