QPR manager Harry Redknapp has reunited himself with two players he knows well as the Hoops swooped for Sandro and Niko Kranjcar on transfer deadline day.

Brazil international Sandro joins from Tottenham on a three-year deal, with Press Association Sport understanding that QPR have paid £10million for the 25-year-old.

A loan deal to take Kranjcar to Loftus Road was announced after the 11pm deadline but marks the fourth time Redknapp has signed the Croatia midfielder - who joins until the summer from parent club Dynamo Kiev.

With other deadline day deals for Lassana Diarra and Fabio Borini falling by the wayside, Sandro and Kranjcar take QPR's summer signing total to 10 as Redknapp looks to build a side capable of achieving Barclays Premier League survival.

Sandro has been capped 17 times by Brazil and Redknapp is delighted to have the player amongst the ranks at Loftus Road.

"Sandro's a proper footballer and a top class professional - he's an absolutely fantastic signing for us. I couldn't be more pleased," said Redknapp.

"He's been a massive target of mine all summer and I honestly didn't think we'd be able to pull it off - it's a real statement from the club, from the owners, to bring in a player of his undoubted ability.

"He brings energy, aggression, power and quality. They call him the Beast. He's not only a top quality footballer, but a fantastic boy as well. He'll lead by example for us. Tottenham fans loved him and I'm sure the QPR fans will too."

The former Internacional midfielder confirmed linking up with Redknapp again played a big part in his decision to move across London.

"I like new challenges and this is one I'm really looking forward to," said Sandro.

"Working with Harry again, who I share a great relationship with, is very special to me. Football is in my heart and I'm very happy at this moment. I'm very pleased to be here and I'm looking forward to meeting my team-mates.

"I had a good relationship with the fans at Tottenham Hotspur and I will try my hardest to get the QPR fans to like me. I will give everything on the pitch and fight for every minute. I'm ready and raring to go."

Kranjcar, 30, returns to QPR for a second loan spell, having helped the club to gain immediate promotion back to the Premier League last season.

Redknapp also took the winger to Portsmouth and Tottenham and Kranjcar is pleased to be working with him once again.

"It's a great feeling to be back, it feels like home. I felt a special emotion with the club and the fans," he said.

"The fans were phenomenal last season. I had a great relationship with them and hopefully it's only going to get better. I really feel happy here, at a club where I really want to play, and I play with all my heart. I can't wait for my season to start with QPR.

"I believe I still have something to prove, for myself and for all the fans. The Premier League is a lot more physical than it was in the past but I'm looking forward to it. I have no doubt this club is going to be in the Premier League for a long time."

The duo join Rio Ferdinand, Steven Caulker, Jordon Mutch, Leroy Fer, Jack Robinson, Alex McCarthy, Mauricio Isla and Eduardo Vargas in signing for the Hoops during a busy transfer window.
