NORTH East Worcestershire Ravens were stunned by a late points surge as they were beaten 44-18 by Midlands Division leaders Telford Raiders on Saturday.
Ravens had been holding their against the table-toppers until they scored 18 points in the last ten minutes to give the visitors to Finstall Park a flattering scoreline.
The game was close early on but Telford were handed the advantage when Sean Sudworth was sin-binned in the 23rd minute and they scored two tries.
Ravens suffered another set back when Bradley Sinclair was carried off with a broken collar bone.
David Wimbury kicked a penalty and then set up John Freeman for a try, which Sudworth converted.
Sean Flynn added another score for the hosts but Telford bagged a try late in the first half to streak 16-12 ahead.
Wimbury scored a penalty seven minutes into the second period but they lost their way and allowed the visitors to touch down twice and extend their lead to 26-14.
Flynn kept Ravens in the game with a try but as the home team ran out of steam, the Raiders drove home their slighty superiority.
On Saturday, they take on Northampton Demons away (2.30pm start).
