Bromsgrove Rovers 2 Stourport Swifts 1

Bromsgrove Rovers beat Stourport Swifts 2-1 in the local derby at the Victoria Ground.

Goals from Ryan Keen and Jack Connolly gave them a comfortable lead after they dominated the first half.

On 28 minutes a free kick from Kevin Banner was headed in by Keen.

Then Josh McKenzie hit the post before on 37 minutes McKenzie got away from the Swifts' defence but his shot was saved by Paul Evans, only for it to rebound to Connolly who scored.

Earlier, Evans had produced a fine save from a volley by Scheppel from the edge of the box.

Rovers continued to attack from the restart, with the Stourport defence looking hesitant.

For Stourport, Mark Benbow had a chance in the box on 58 minutes but his angled shot from close range went wide.

Dexter Ravenhill was sent off on 70 minutes when he appeared to grab a Stourport player around the neck in an off the ball incident involving a number of people.

Just afterwards, substitue Luke Findley went close when he picked up the ball from a free kick but his shot was well saved by Evans.

Stourport reduced the deficit on 75 minutes when the ball rebounded off Rovers' defender Stree and into his path and he half volleyed into the net.

Despite some more Swifts pressure, the ten men held out for victory.
