FIT-AGAIN lock Will Spencer looks set to play in Worcester Warriors’ Aviva Premiership clash at Exeter Chiefs on Saturday (2pm).

The giant second row has returned to training this week after overcoming a small operation on his ankle which he underwent last month.

And director of rugby Alan Solomons said the 25-year-old should be “good to go” against the reigning English champions.

Spencer has agreed to join Leicester Tigers in the summer, but Solomons is confident the ex-Bath forward will give “absolutely everything” for Warriors until his departure.

“Will is fine,” said Solomons whose side are nine points clear of the drop zone.

“He took part in practice on Tuesday and came through without any problems so he should be good to go.

“It is (a shame that he is leaving), but it is professional sport and these things happen – players come and go.

“But he is a really good bloke, a great team man and will give us absolutely everything until the end of the season.”

Solomons was also delighted to see tighthead prop Nick Schonert return from an ankle injury as he is expected to start against Exeter.

The 26-year-old came off the bench to play in Warriors’ 33-27 defeat at Dragons in the Anglo-Welsh Cup last Friday.

“He looked good in those 20 minutes and moved around easily which was a positive for me,” Solomons added.

“The conditioning team and medical staff have worked hard to get him back playing.

“Nick and Will are big players for us so we want them out on the pitch.”
