JOE Clarke is wicket-keeper for the first time at senior level in Worcestershire Rapids' final Royal London One-Day Cup North Group clash today with Derbyshire Falcons at the 3aaa County Ground.
The 19-year-old will take over behind the stumps from Ben Cox who is being rested after playing in every competitive game during the current campaign.
Clarke wore the gloves for England Under-19s and has made a big impression with the bat since breaking into the side at the end of June.
He had a brief spell as keeper during the recent LV = County Championship match with Nottinghamshire after Cox went off the field after being hit earlier in the day when batting.
Skipper Daryl Mitchell will also take a break from action before the final quartet of LV = County Championship matches and Alex Gidman will lead the side.
Gidman was stand-in captain for the last LV = CC clash against Nottinghamshire as Mitchell battled to overcome a hamstring injury.
Opener Richard Oliver and paceman Charlie Morris return to the side but Jack Shantry and Joe Leach are again rested.
Worcestershire completed a double over Derbyshire when the two sides met in the NatWest T20 Blast this summer.
