WORCESTERSHIRE Academy recorded a 75-run win against Leamington in the Birmingham League Premier Division Graham Williamson Trophy plate competition.

The academy, who had lost to Walmley in the main competition the previous weekend, elected to bat and totalled 168-9 in their 40 overs thanks largely to 79 off 104 balls from Josh Dell.

Zen Malik (19), Dylan Pennington (14), Connor Dudley (11) and Matt Davis (10) were the other players into double figures.

Malik (3-21 in seven overs), Ben Twohig (3-31 in eight) and Pennington (2-1) were responsible for bowling out Leamington for 93 in 26 over Worcestershire Under-17s went down by one wicket at Bromsgrove School for a 50-over match.

The under-17s totalled 180-9 with Alex Hinkley top-scoring with 60 off 70 balls.

Dylan Silence made a useful 24 while George Marshall returned the excellent figures of 4-17 from 10 overs and Awais Mohammed 3-34 in 10.

Bromsgrove reached their target with nine balls to spare with their last pair at the crease and Ben Fitzmaurice scoring an unbeaten 23.

Jordan Smith, 38 off 33 balls, Awais Mohammed, 27, and James Kinder, 26, were the other main contributors. For ther Under-17s, Charlie Greening finished with 3-29 from his 10 overs.

Josh Dickenson recorded a hat-trick for the Worcestershire Development X1 who defeated Shrewsbury School Under-14s by 49 runs in a 45 overs a side game.

Ollie Halim (32), Oliver Cox (28) and Dickenson (24) helped the Development X1 to total 132-7.

The hosts were then bowled out for 83 with Lewis Evans recording the splendid figures of 5-22 before spinner Dickenson's one-two-three blast.
