WORCESTERSHIRE wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Milton has enjoyed a purple patch of form playing in Wales after hitting three centuries in 10 days.

MIlton, who plays regularly for the County seconds when university commitments permit, reached three figures on two occasions for Cardiff MCCU and a third time for Cardiff CC.

His hundreds for the students were achieved against two of the strongest university sides in Loughborough MCCU and Leeds-Bradford MCCU.

Milton, who is 21 later this month, hit 102 at Loughborough in a British Universities Premier League fixture.

He struck one six and 10 fours in his 116-ball knock in the 50-over game but his efforts were in vain as the hosts chased down a 250 target and won by five wickets.

Redhill-born Milton then reached a second century versus Leeds-Bradford in a two-day game at Usk.

He finished unbeaten on 108 from 173 balls with 13 boundaries in the drawn encounter.

Milton's third hundred came for his club side Cardiff and helped them to a 69-run win over Ynysygerwn in a South Wales Premier Cricket League fixture.

He went in first and made 115 off 139 balls with 15 fours as Cardiff posted 301-7 in 50 overs.

Milton also took three catches and brought about a run out.

Worcestershire academy coach Elliot Wilson said: "To score three hundreds so close together is a great effort.

"The two for Cardiff MCCU were against two of the strongest universities. It showed why we regard him so highly at Worcestershire."

Milton will return to action with the County in the middle of May after finishing his university examinations.

He gave an early indication of his potential when scoring 66 off 68 balls for the first team against Somerset at Taunton Vale when taking advantage of the absence of Ben Cox and Joe Clarke who were on MCC duty in the UAE.
