WORCESTERSHIRE Rapids were beaten by Kent and Yorkshire in their Vitality Women’s County T20 double header at Chester Road.

In game one, Kent opted to bat and were rocked by a double early strike from Izzy Wong who sent back openers Phoebe Franklin and Chelsey Rowson.

But consistent contributions down the order enabled them to recover and post 135-5 in their 20 overs.

Wong finished with 2-28 from her four overs and Sarah Glenn and Jessica Humby (both 1-16) were other wicket-takers while Clare Boycott (0-19 in four) and Emily Arlott (0-21 in four) bowled tightly.

In reply, Rapids lost wickets at regular intervals and their only sizeable contribution came from Boycott who made 28 off 27 balls with four boundaries as they closed on 88-8.

In the second game, Worcestershire chose to bat and number three Glenn, with 34 off 36 balls with six fours, was their main contributor as they totalled 94-7.

When Yorkshire batted, Lauren Rowles (4-0-23-1), Glenn (3-0-10-1) and Arlott (2.1-0-17-1) were the wicket-takers as the visitors reached 97-4 in 17.1 overs.

Rapids are involved in another double header at Wellbeck against Sussex and Nottinghamshire this weekend.
