WORCESTERSHIRE have received a boost with Moeen Ali made available by England for all cricket starting with Friday’s Vitality Blast clash with Durham Jets at Emirates Riverside (6.30pm).
The England all-rounder and his team-mates wrap up the one-day international series against India in the decider at Headingley on Tuesday.
Moeen has been appointed the table-topping Rapids' official Blast captain for the 2018 campaign.
The 31-year-old is scheduled to make his first appearance of the season in the competition against Jets.
Worcestershire head coach Kevin Sharp said: “Moeen always enjoys coming back and playing for us whenever he can.
“He is so highly respected and liked in our dressing room.”
Moeen’s international team-mate Ben Stokes has also been given permission to play in the encounter for Jets.
But Durham paceman Mark Wood has not been made available by England.
Rapids now have a break from action before taking on Jets.
Sharp added: “It will be a couple of days of active recovery as they call it now which will be a bit of gym work and then there will be some practice on Wednesday and Thursday before we go to Durham.”
