Brad Pitt is in talks to star in war drama The Operators.
The World War Z star is tipped to play the outspoken General Stanley McChrystal, the former commanding general of international and US forces in Afghanistan in the film, reported the Los Angeles Times.
He would also produce the big screen version of Michael Hastings' book The Operators, which is being directed and written by Australian filmmaker David Michod.
Michael's book, based on his Rolling Stone expose The Runaway General: The Wild And Terrifying Inside Story Of America's War In Afghanistan , tells the story of the general, who resigned from his post after allegedly being overheard bad-mouthing his superiors including President Barack Obama. The general died last June in a car crash in Los Angeles at the age of 33.
Brad, last seen in Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave and Ridley Scott's The Counsellor, will next star in David Ayer's World War II drama Fury alongside Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman and Michael Pena.
He is also set to make a cameo in 22 Jump Street, with Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill.
