RESIDENTS are being invited to spend an evening with Johnnie Walker at the Palace Theatre.
From pirate radio to Bucking-ham Palace and an MBE, Johnnie will tell the story of how he came to be one of the best known and most loved broadcasters in Britain.
Johnnie made his name in the 60s with the pirate ship Radio Caroline and seven years with Radio 1 before moving to San Francisco in 1976.
He returned home in the early 80s, and following stints with ILR stations Radio West and Wiltshire Radio in the West Country, he returned to Radio 1 to present The Stereo Sequence.
More than 30 years of music fandom was then channelled into Radio 2’s Drivetime show which he hosted until March 2006.
Johnnie can now be heard hosting the Radio 2 breakfast show, a duty he splits with Terry Wogan, as well as his Sunday show.
An Evening With Johnnie Walker is on Wednesday, September 9 starting at 7.30pm.
