DANCING couples of all ages are invited to show off their moves at a glamorous fundraiser in aid of mental health charities.

The returning Strictly Worcestershire 6 competition will be held at the Chateau Impney in Droitwich Spa on Thursday, May 23 2019, and organisers are looking for enthusiastic contestants to take part and strut their stuff.

The annual black-tie event, organised by Worcestershire Ambassadors, will raise money for mental health charities in the area, having last year raised £32,000 for St Richard’s Hospice and Rory the Robot Appeal.

On the judging panel will be former trade minister Lord Digby Jones, veteran broadcaster Bob Warman, dancer/choreographer Katie Love and choreographer Jennifer Bennett Price.

The event will also feature returning announcer Alan Dedicoat, the voice of TV’s Strictly Come Dancing, as well as BBC Hereford and Worcester breakfast show presenter Elliott Webb as the night's MC.

The couple in first place will have the honour of lifting the prized glitterball trophy in front of the audience.

Executive producer Julia Williams, who took part in 2014 and 2015, said: “Our contestants will enjoy an amazing journey in the expert hands of professional dance teachers.

“Dancers will be made to feel a million dollars with professional make up, hair and spray tans – all we ask is that they bring bags of energy, commit to several months of training and leave everything out on the floor.”
