THE autumn-winter season at Stratford-upon-Avon’s Swan Theatre concludes with William Shakespeare’s Timon of Athens.
This production, which will be directed by Simon Godwin, opens on December 7 and runs through to February 22, 2019 and it has been confirmed this production will be recorded for broadcast ‘Live from Stratford-upon-Avon on dates to be confirmed.
The play is Shakespeare’s poignant satire on wealth, greed and betrayal.
Director Simon Godwin, whose last production for the RSC, Hamlet, toured nationally earlier in the year, directs Kathryn Hunter in the title role.
The designer is Soutra Gilmour, with lighting by Tim Lutkin and this will the first Shakespeare title to play in the Swan during the RSC’s current journey thrrough the First Folio, and the first time the play has been performed in this space.
