A LIBRARY has been created at a Finstall pub, to raise money for a town charity.

The Cross Inn, in Alcester Road, has previously sold books in aid of the Primrose Hospice, but a new library has been created to ensure even more can be raised.

Businessman Mike Baldrey organised for the library to be built, enabling the pub to offer 500 books for sale.

Revellers are invited to browse the shelves while enjoying a pint, with all money raised donated to the St Godwald’s Road-based charity that provides support and care to people suffering with cancer.

Mr Baldrey said: “The Cross Inn’s publican, Dave Neale, has always been proud of the money raised for charity - now it will be considerably more.

“Any patrons of the pub may now buy from a superb collection of fiction and non-fiction, knowing all monies will go to a really deserving cause.”
