CHILDREN at Sidemoor First School are taking on a challenge this week, to build and design their own garden for the Malvern Spring Gardening Show.
This year, the theme for the show is ‘children’s books’ and the pupils will be designing their garden based on a class favourite ‘Hodgeheg’ by Dick King Smith.
The enthusiastic young gardeners have been growing their own plants from seed with the help of staff from Littleheath Garden Centre, and now they’re gearing up to take their garden to the Malvern Show from Thursday, May 9 to Sunday, May 12.
Liz Fraser from Littleheath, said: “It is fantastic to see these young gardeners so involved and excited about this project. Good Luck Sidemoor.”
Class teacher, Caroline Ince, added: “We are very pleased to be taking part in this exciting project.”
The garden will be staged at the Three Counties showground, where it will be judged for certificates of commendation by a panel from the Royal Horticultural Society and Three Counties Agricultural Society.
