BROMSGROVE Rotary Club is holding a family fun day celebrating a birthday milestone and the official opening of an ambitious project by town rotarians.

The event is being held in Sanders Park, in Kidderminster Road, from 1pm this Sunday, May 12.

The fun day features line dancing from the Busy Boots demonstration team and sports and games with coaching from qualified coaches from Bromsgrove District Council’s sports coaching team.

Sanders Park Bowls Club will be opening its doors to the public for an introduction to bowls, coaching and advice.

The children’s play area will be available to entertain youngsters, while there will be demonstrations at the skate park.

There will also be duck racing, bouncy castles, face painting, plus music from the Celebration Reed and Brass Band, a DJ and singers.

The highlight of the day will be the opening of the Diamond Sensory Garden in the park at 2pm.

The garden is in the shape of the Rotary Club's wheel logo and includes a stone wishing well centrepiece, and canals with water gently flowing through them.

The garden forms part of the club’s 75th anniversary celebrations, being held this year.
