A BROMSGROVE solicitors firm, dating back nearly 130 years, is in new hands.

Scotts Holt & Sellers has been taken over by West Midlands firm mfg Solicitors LLP.

Under the deal the solicitors will be relocating from its offices in St John Street, to mfg’s High Street premises.

The practice became Scotts Holt & Sellers in 2006 following the merger of two Bromsgrove legal practices – the 1886 founded Holt & Sellers and Scotts, a practice established in the late 19th century.

The firm provides a variety of family, matrimonial, probate and property legal services. As part of the deal the Scotts Holt & Sellars name will remain.

Suzanne Lee, managing partner at mfg Solicitors, said that the deal added significantly to mfg’s expertise and client base within Bromsgrove.

“To have Scotts Holt & Sellers as part of the mfg family is exciting for us.

“Like mfg they are a firm steeped in history and have a respected reputation built over many years.

“We are already seeing our client base grow as a result of the acquisition and in turn that is helping to pull people into the town – often from outside the area.”

Alan Morris, senior partner at Scotts Holt & Sellers added: “We are certain that the merger will bring many benefits for our clients.

“It is an exciting deal and now it has been completed we are in a position to offer an increased number of legal services.

“We have turned the page to a new chapter in our firm’s history.”

Mfg Solicitors has 33 partners and employs nearly 130 people across main offices in Bromsgrove, Kidderminster, Worcester, and Telford.

Scotts Holt & Sellers employs 10 people, who are moving to the new High Street base.
