A TEAM of keen paddlers from Webbs Garden Centre in Wychbold have been raising money for charity by taking part in a dragon boat race.
This is the second year running that the garden centre has sent a team in for the Pershore Phoenix Dragon Boat Race along the Avon, which raises money every year for Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Mark Goddard, the Webbs team leader said: “It was a really good, fun day – everyone enjoyed themselves and it was a great team building experience.
“We won our first race with a time of one minute seven seconds, we then improved throughout the day to win the final and set a new time record of one minute 34 seconds. We also won the Garden Centre challenge by beating St Peter’s by 0.94 seconds.”
The team is now set to compete in a national charity race in Nottingham later this month.
