A TALENTED Bromsgrove pianist who received a merit in a recent exam is preparing to study music at university.
James Jarvis archived a merit in his Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) grade eight piano.
After further success studying A Level music he is now starting the next phase of his career, studying BA Music at Bangor University.
James has been a pupil with David Wadhams Music School in Stoke Heath for nine years, playing organ, violin and clarinet. He has also sung in the St Johns Choir.
Principal, David Wadhams said: "We have had the highest number of entries for piano and classical guitar ABRSM and Trinity Grades in 20 years, but only James has gone on to study classical music at university.
"He has shown application and the dedication needed to reach this level.
"James has also been a great inspiration to our younger players. I am extremely proud of him and we all wish him every success for the future.”
