A BROMSGROVE open air museum is celebrating after being named a winner of a county award.
Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings, in Redditch Road, was a winner at the Visit Worcestershire Awards for Excellence.
Winners were announced at the Worcestershire's Annual Tourism Conference held at the Mercure Kidderminster.
Finalists were judged on their ability to provide an exceptional tourism experience.
The Stoke Heath museum was named the winner of the prestigious best tourism experience award category, overcoming tough competition from Worcester Cathedral and Little Owl Farm Park.
The museum now goes forward to the 2015 VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.
Also at the awards Droitwich Spa Food and Drink Festival, nominated in the Best Festivals and Events Award category, was commended by the judges.
