PATIENTS unsure about where they should go for treatment can now view up-to-date waiting times at the county’s acute and community hospitals online.
Waiting times at Redditch’s Alexandra Hospital and at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, as well as the Minor Injury Unit (MIU) in Bromsgrove, are now available to view at worcsacute.nhs.uk.
The figures, which are updated every five minutes, include the current longest time to see a doctor or nurse, the amount of patients waiting and the overall amount of people in the department.
In general waiting times at the MIUs – which can treat cuts, grazes, wounds, sprains, strains, minor burns and broken bones – are much shorter than at the three acute hospitals.
Anyone unsure of whether it would be most appropriate to visit A&E or an MIU can call NHS 111 or visit isaandeforme.com.
