RESIDENTS are invited to get into the festive spirit with the turning on of Rubery's Christmas lights this Saturday, November 28 in New Road.
The event starts at 3.30pm and there will be two hours of entertainment before the lights are turned on by Councillor Caroline Spencer at 5.30pm.
There to entertain the crowds will be singer Nathan Farrall who won the first international open mic competition, beating more than 14,000 other artists to scoop the title.
There will be singing from local girl Sophie Thompson who reached the final of the Austin Search for a Star competition and is proving popular at festivals and a performance by the Candy Dolls.
There will also be music by child singer Issabelle Young, guitarist/singer Susie Gee and St James School Choir, face painting, and plenty more fun for the whole family.
