HOMEBASE staff in Bromsgrove have raised enough money to fund 20 Macmillan nursing hours for their charity partner Macmillan Cancer Support.

Workers came together to donate their Easter eggs and goodies for a tombola over the Easter weekend, while customers were encouraged to get involved and donate.

Naomi Harper, duty manager at Bromsgrove’s Homebase, said: ““I’m so proud of my team and the fantastic job they’ve done in raising £550 for Macmillan Cancer Support. We had an amazing time in-store and the support from the local community has been incredible.

“So many of us know someone who has been affected by cancer and it means so much to know that we’ve funded 20 hours of Macmillan nursing care.”

Since voting to support Macmillan as their UK charity partner last year, Homebase has raised a whopping £1 million in just seven months.

Sarah Callan, partnership manager at Macmillan Cancer Support said: “We want to say a massive well done to the Homebase team in Bromsgrove for raising £550 which will fund 20 hours of vital care from a Macmillan nurse. Your efforts will help Macmillan to be there for more people affected by cancer, their families and loved ones too, and will enable us to ensure that no one faces cancer alone. Thank you.”

Homebase hope to raise a combined total of £3 million by March 2017 which will fund over 100,000 nursing hours to ensure no one faces cancer alone.
