YEAR eight students at St John’s Middle School had a treat recently when five volunteers popped into to help them find out more about the working world for their careers day.
Music producer and artist Ben Stancombe, firefighter Steve Williams, nurse Kate Cross, Geraldine Guest from the Blue Cross, and Dave Johnson from DNA Automotive Solutions, all came into the school to talk to the 12 and 13-year-olds throughout the morning, about their careers.
Head of year eight, Rachel Bourne, said: “Today is vital for our pupils as it gives them real insight into a range of different career options. Hopefully they will go away inspired and determined to pursue their chosen pathway. I can’t thank our volunteers enough for giving up their valuable time.”
