BLACKWELL Concert Band members struck the right chord when they put their instruments aside and tackled a different scale by climbing Mount Snowdon to raise money for the Macmillan Cancer Support charity.
The band have been raising funds for Macmillan since 2011 after their own secretary was diagnosed with cancer. Since then they have raised almost £10,000.
This latest fund raiser involved a group of 11 including band members and family, where their ages ranged from 14 to 67.
They successfully tackled Snowdon, despite appalling weather, and have already raised over £2,000 for their efforts.
The band already stage an annual fundraising concert for Macmillan and also hold various bucket collection performances over the Christmas period, most notably at Severn Valley Railway.
