KIND-hearted scouts spent six hours tidying and renovating the garden of a Bromsgrove care home last weekend, earning their 'World Challenge and Teamwork' badge.

Members of 6th Bromsgrove Scouts spent the day at Housman Court weeding, planting seeds and painting furniture.

One helper, William Beaumont, planted a rose called Remember, using his grandfather's spade, in memory of his grandma who passed away at the home 18 months ago.

Activities organiser Carina McAuliffe said: "Staff, residents and relatives were very pleased with all that they achieved over a short time.

"I myself would like to thank everyone involved and for all the donations that the scouts and leaders brought with them. Not only did they work hard but they were also very well-mannered."
